Program Donors

Of course, all this requires a great deal of support. While we are committed to a sustainable model, we are seeking a total of $1,000,000 in financial support for the training and capital costs for expansion, as well as to build the sales and planning capacity of our whole organization. We would like to extend a special thanks to the donors who have helped us thus far.
UK Embassy in Cambodia, was DDD’s first donor and funded management training and expansion in 2003.
MPDF / IFC involvement:
2002
1. Raised a grant fund from Project IDEAS - $48,600 for computer equipment and working capital
2. Provided TA to build the capacity of the local management to run the operations
3. Provided TA to improve the quality and accuracy rate of data entry services and data entry operation management

2003
4. Provided TA to assist the expansion to Battambang and Lao:
(i) assisted in the recruitment and provided training to the new management trainees
(ii) built management capacity of the new managers to run the day-to-day operations
(iii) assisted in the logistics of setting up the two new sites.
5. MPDF sponsored DDD to apply for a Development Marketplace grant, and it won $157,000 for future replication and sales & marketing efforts.

2004
6. MPDF Lao currently provides TA in IT to DDD Lao by hiring an information technology expert for five months to :
(i) train relevant staff at the Company on information technology skills and knowledge; and
(ii) manage DDDL’s information technology maintenance work during the assignment.
7. Future Assistance - MPDF Cambodia and IFC Strengthening Grassroots Business Organizations Initiative (SGBI) is working together to provide assistance to DDD Cambodia to build the business’s sustainability. The assistance of MPDF will comprise of working closely with DDD local management to implement and manage the following components:
(i) Upgrade of financial accounting
(ii) Conduct an external audit
(iii) Reconstruction of accounts – establishing balances in preparation for the separation of business and social operations
(iv) Establish a local finance management function
8. MIS
(i) Establish a financial accounting system, job costing/pricing and order specifications, and other business related MIS.
9. Business Plan Development
(i) Define key business objectives and strategies
(ii) Develop key metrics and action plans
The Asia Foundation (with funding from USAID and the US State Department), has funded DDD’s economic alternative to trafficking project which trains and employees trafficked and abused women at DDD.
The Kearny Alliance, provides expansion capital to DDD, aids in North American marketing, and sponsors Thunderbird School of Management Internships with DDD.
The Rotary Club 31of Denver, The Rotary Club of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Rotary International Foundation and the District 5450. These individual Rotary organizations are the primary donors of DDD’s scholarship program which provides over 100 educational opportunities for DDD employees.
The United Nation Development Programme, has funded the expansion of DDD in Battambang and business development.
