How to avoid common mistakes when digitizing data sets
What does the world really need right now?
This is the question that the TED 2010 conference, which just concluded this weekend, was trying to answer. One of the speakers, Chip Conley, pointed to employee happiness as the answer.
“I am studying English”
It has been said that the lack of human resource is one of the biggest challenges facing Cambodia. DDD employs young and disadvantaged Cambodians in entry-level IT jobs as operators, provides a scholarship for their college education, and gives the operators the opportunity to attend additional classes at the office in Phnom Penh. Every day more than 30 operators join the newly established English classes. When I recently attended the intermediate class, verbs in the present continuous form were on the agenda.
“If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
This is an African proverb that Michael Chertok quoted on his first day on the job in his new role as DDD’s Vice President of Global Impact. In this role, Michael will be working with DDD’s staff and board to more effectively measure–and ultimately increase–the organization’s social impact on an individual, regional and global level.
