The participants in the Social Entrepreneurship Symposium in Bangkok this week did want to hear more and, based on the profile above, they voted DDD one of the ten most popular social enterprise models represented at the Southeast Asia Symposium in Bangkok last week, qualifying us for an onstage presentation.

The Symposium was organized by Social Enterprise Asia Network, a regional network of social enterprise-related entities. More than 200 participants came together in Bangkok at the beginning of last week to share knowledge, build partnerships, and promote social entrepreneurship in Southeast Asia.

Eric Wong represented DDD at another symposium earlier this year, and for this event we sent Metta Thippawong, Senior Accountant, and Phab – previously profiled together on this blog – to Bangkok. Metta explains about the experience: “We were really happy to see our DDD name on the list [of presenters] and we were happy to get a chance to pitch and share the success of our social mission model. We were so excited to be in front of 200 people. It was a really good experience for us.”

She also noted that joining the Symposium was a unique opportunity for DDD to network with other social enterprises and to increase our awareness of the many new ventures forming in countries like the Philippines and Japan.

Metta, and all of us at DDD, look forward to participating in these symposiums in the future, in order to keep building the social enterprise movement in Southeast Asia.
