Lak, longtime DDD Finance Director, returns to Vientiane

A year and a half ago, Souphalak Souksavath, DDD’s much beloved Finance Director, took a leave of absence to complete a Masters in International Management at Portland State University in Oregon, US. This January she returned to DDD – and to her native Laos.

DDD receives a $895,000 grant from the Rockefeller Foundation

Digital Divide Data (DDD) has received a grant of $895,000 from the Rockefeller Foundation to bring its social enterprise model to Kenya. This funding will enable DDD to invest in an information technology services business that will train and employ 300 youth from slum areas in Nairobi.

Digitizing the British Library’s Newspaper Archive

The British Library holds one of the world’s finest collections of newspapers: The collection spans three centuries and includes more than 52,000 regional, national, and international titles. Each year, more than 30,000 researchers and students make the trip to the Newspaper Library in northern London to access the archived newspapers.
