DDD is experienced at digitizing archives
DDD has been digitizing rare, fragile and unique archives for nearly a decade. We partner with libraries, private archives, major research universities, private schools, town halls, and museums to custom-design the best solution to meet their digitization needs.
We can do small delicate jobs or large bulk jobs
Our wide span of projects ranges from digitally preserving the "crown jewels" of collections to processing thousands of pages of institutional records.
DDD supports the latest library standards
We work every day with the very latest library standards for imaging, metadata and XML. Typical projects require us to deliver digital images to NISO standards, metadata in METS and Dublin Core, and full text in TEI Lite. We are a leader in METS/ALTO processing for books, periodicals and newspapers, processing hundreds of thousands of pages per month, including delivering to NDNP standards for newspaper digitization.
Archives vary and digitization needs also vary
Archives possess varied and valuable collections, with digitization needs that are just as diverse. In digitizing an archive, institutions can maintain huge repositories of information, or seek to preserve one rare or valuable object, document or manuscript. Regardless of the collection, digitization makes archives searchable and accessible to a new generation of users online.
