DDD digitizes hundreds of thousands of newspaper pages every month
DDD's very first project in 2001 was the digitization of The Harvard Crimson. Today we process hundreds of thousands of pages of newspaper content per month. Our roster of clients includes The Brown Daily Herald, The Yale Daily News, Hyde Park Herald, Civil War papers from the University of Richmond and the New York Daily News photo archive.

Our newspaper digitization work supports mass-digitization of national archives, photo-archives for major urban dailies and archival digital preservation of student papers. Newspapers document every aspect of a nation's culture and history, from landmark events to fleeting trends. For universities, student newspapers keep a personal history of your alumni. Our work bringing these publications online consistently creates stunning results and landmark projects.

Newspaper digitization unlocks the full potential of the Internet - search, immediate access from anywhere, anytime and the amazing experience of viewing a page of history with just a few clicks.

Working with student papers, we understand the importance of forming close partnerships with all the stake-holders; librarians, alumni boards, grant-makers and university administration, each of whom may have a distinct interest in the outcome of the project. From a preservation standpoint, we ensure the utmost care and quality during scanning and meet the NARA imaging standards. For alumni, we work on a solution that will make online access user-friendly and comprehensive. For administrators and development officers, we collaborate to provide content that will reach a wide audience. In addition, our technical expertise with METS/ALTO, custom XML and imaging is a critical resource for our clients in embarking on large, high-profile newspaper digitization projects.
